As one of the largest ever investments into education in the UK, the Hub at Doncaster Education City provides 33,500 sq m of educational space spread across 3 buildings linked by bridges and walkways. Due to the sheer size and scale of this development, DLA Interiors worked hard to break this imposing space down with the creation of main focal points within the interior design concept. An important element was the creation of the 'Pod' - a central design feature in the main atrium and Learning Resource Centre. Highly visible during daylight and cleverly lit at night, the 'Pod' creates a dramatic and interesting addition to the overall design which covers 3 reception areas, Learning Resource Centre, refectory, restaurant, hair salon and all teaching space.
